Published on the occasion of Swedish artist Cecilia Edefalk’s solo exhibition at Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde, Stockholm, this catalogue presents numerous images as well as insightful reflections on her oeuvre by eminent writers from Sweden and Germany. The exhibition is the first retrospective of Edefalk’s idiosyncratic and deeply personal body of work since 1999, which deals with subjects such as time, memory, the spiritual, transience, and rebirth. Using painting, sculpture, and photography, she approaches the challenge of portraying the ethereal life beyond and the constantly shifting line between art and nature through subtle, refined, and expressive artworks.
